Rietvallei Wine Estate, situated in the Klaas Voogds Valley, eight kilometers east of Robertson, is one of the oldest Muscadel farms in this area.

The farm is in the hands of the Burger family since 1864. About 135 hectares of Rietvallei is planted with vineyards, the most important cultivars being Chardonnay, Muscadel, Cabernet Sauvignon, Rhine Riesling and Sauvignon Blanc.

Rietvallei's Estate Red Muscadel performed well over the past few years. In 2000 it was chosen by the Swedish Monopoly as the best on their market. The Chardonnay made its debut on the panel of the Wine of the Month club in 2001.

Both the Chardonnay and Muscadel won a silver medal at the 2000 Veritas. The youngest addition to the portfolio is the Sauvignon Blanc, which was released in September 2001.
