This
33ha jewel-like property, regally draped over the Franschhoek
mountians, was recently sold to Congolese telecommunications
entrepeneur Miko Rwayitare, making this farm the first
black owned winery in South Africa. Mr Rwayitare's intention
is to produce wines that will be ranked amongst the top
ten in SA within 5-6 years.
Future plans include the upgrading of the cellar and acquiring
more land in the cool areas outside Franschhoek to establish
+/- 30ha of classic reds, supplementing the current 9ha
that are under vines. Award winning wines that are produced
on this farm includes Sauvignon Blanc, Natural Chardonnay,
Oak matured Chardonnay, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot.
Currently exporting 60% of 10 000 cases produced.
